That sharp pain in your chest
shows up occasionally
without notice or explanation
whenever you breath too deep.
It is the poem
scratching its way out
of your heart
and soul.
So crack your knuckles
get your pen
and write
until the pain disappears
and you can breathe easy
for a while.
